Antaranya, Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi akhirnya telah meletakkan jawatan sebagai Presiden parti tanpa perlu dipaksa melakukannya (Jose, from an introspect he was forced to stepped down from that post, mind you!) dan Datuk Seri Najib telah mengambil alih jawatan tersebut, walaupun telah memenanginya tanpa bertanding.

THE PIGS OF CORRUPTION PART 2

By – Hesmel Faznee Faisal

Salam, to my fellow bloggers and readers of this blog.

To all of the UMNO hopefuls who will be contesting for the coming UMNO party election, I wish you all the best!

Also, not to forget the shrewd politicians who have plans to buy votes from some of the UMNO delegates or, has been doing it for a number of times during the previous UMNO party election, I wish you good luck. However, please be extra caution as disguised officers from the Anti Corruption Commission will be all over place at PWTC during the 4 day conference.

UMNO, according to former UMNO President Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, is beyond repair. I personally disagreed with such argument because the party has yet to lose the total support of the Malays, especially in the rural areas.

As an institution and not as a political party, UMNO can become stronger than before provided, its members must stop making bickering attempts to spoil the party for the sake of their own personal agenda.

The recent gathering organized by an NGO group which calls themselves Perkasa, had provided a stage for Tun Dr Mahathir to voiced out his personal view on the Malays. Apart from sharing his views on the current situation of the Malays, he had also stated out that some of the political parties had accused the Malays of using the apartheid approach towards non Malays.

It is also important to note that some (Jose, not all!) of the corrupted UMNO members are the ones who has been unfair to themselves. They tend to buy votes by giving either kick backs or Government projects to the delegates and asked them to vote for certain leaders who sometimes, did not have the necessary qualification to lead them.

Do we need such leaders to lead us, during which our country is facing the most terrible economic turmoil Malaysia had seen in decades?

RASUAH..

Apabila bercakap mengenai soal rasuah bagaimanakah caranya hendak kita mendefinisikan perbuatan rasuah?

THE PIGS OF CORRUPTION

By – Hesmel Faznee Faisal

Salam, to my fellow bloggers and Bacalah readers.
If any of my blog readers (How I wish there were!) had read the latest posting by Datuk Kadir Jasin in his blog The Scribe, you might have noticed the latest title in one of his writings that touches the issue on bribery. "Khinzirkan" Rasuah Untuk Perkuat Melayu”, which is very bold and strident, has managed to hit a nail on the head, depending on which head did we nailed on. It is an unquestionable truth that all Muslims have accepted the fact that consuming pork is haram for them; however, there are still those who had also forgotten that corruption is as haram as consuming pork! And, I cannot discount the fact that what Uncle Kadir had written on the subject is as hard as a brickbat!

For those who are too concern in avoiding haram things and are worried on whether they are buying products which are either produced or manufactured by the Israelis, they have to also remind themselves about how dangerous the culture of corruption for the general public.
We cannot afford to be closing one eye on matters pertaining to this filthy habit. Nevertheless, it is still not too late for us to take actions and to prevail it from cultivating in our generation and being accepted as part of our culture.

The ulama must also play a very important role in educating Muslims on the repercussions of corruption for the society. In short, they must try to find other ways of delivering the same and lame lectures and to avoid from replicating the same subject, again and again.
Then again, even some within the quarters of the ulama, could not distance themselves from corruption.

We must also realized (Yes, Jose. There are human beings as well!) That corruption comes not only in the context of wealth, money or power but also in a form of preaching.
Some of the ulamak may have either noticed or being totally in denial or, are aware that they preach things which are not in the context of the Quran or Sunnah, but have deteriorate it due to their own interest. This is where we can see a lot of teaching that is contradicted with the true teaching of Islam. I believe it is about time we need to uphold the true teaching of Islam and to dig out new facts which either had been left out or have been ignored for such a long time.

To begin with, we need to focus on the importance of combating corruption, rather than participating in rallies, as a way to voiced out our hatred against the so called Israeli product!

KESUNGGUHAN DAN KEIKHLASAN DALAM BERJUANG

Oleh - Hesmel Faznee Faisal

Hari ini (Sabtu, 14 Mac 2009), penulis bekerja.

Mungkin ada di antara mereka yang sedang membaca blog ini (Jose, can't you just accept the fact that no one is following this self indulgence blog!) sedang sedap dan seronok berehat bersama keluarga, atau mungkin sedang lalai dan khusyuk menonton filem Tamil (Jose, usually RTM will screen Tamil drama or its heartbreaking movies in the afternoon for which, only God know why!).

Antara mereka, yang penulis kenal ialah pengawal keselamatan, librarian, pemandu keretapi Komuter (Jose, I salute all of you!) serta rakan-rakan yang mengenali penulis (As if I am as popular as Mawi, or even that guy who said that he would step down from the post he is holding, come end of March 09!)

Penulis terlupa hendak menyebut ahli politik.

Mereka menjadi kaya raya (Jose, I bet some of us don't even know that former US President, George W. Bush was a rich man with a fat income and money in his bank!) dan barulah mereka menyertai politik.

RUMOURS...

By - Hesmel Faznee Faisal

Whilst the writer is trying to scribble down the right word to put on his new writing, he suddenly remembers an old folklore story about a boy who cries wolf. For those who had never heard the story before, the writer will tell you briefly about it.

It tells a story about the Boy, who entertained himself by calling out "Wolf!". Nearby villagers who came to his rescue found that the alarms were false and that they had wasted their time. When the boy was actually confronted by a wolf, the villagers did not believe his cries for help and the wolf tore him into pieces with its sharp claws and later ate him.

The writer also remembers one famous quote relating to the bad habit of lying by former American President, Abraham Lincoln who once said, “No man has a good enough memory to make a successful liar.

Sometimes, a lie can become a fruitful truth if it was been said repeatedly and, the general public had fully accept it as it is. It is more worrisome indeed if our societies have failed to tell the difference between a common truth and lies.

On the other hand, if we accept the fact that all truth is common lies, we surely are heading to disaster.

All of the malicious and slanderous stories that have been said on the certain quarters of people in our society, is unfortunately have managed to establish its existence, thus it has been accepted as the truth, which will hard for the accuser to deny it.

This shows how rumours can damage a credibility of a person. It is a painful fact indeed that words are mightier than sword, but if it had been used with great caution, a single and correct word can improve us to make the world become a better place to stay.

What this writer is trying to say is that we need to recheck on the stories that have been brought to us or and it is important for us to check the validity of it.

The writer is not trying to preach the masses but he is just sharing some point of view on which stories that are filled with malicious and slanderous accusation and senseless rumours should not be taken into consideration as truth by the public.

Dear Bacalah readers (Jose, I doubt people are reading it), before we engaged in any rumours we need to ask ourselves, does it worth of our ears to dangle in this sort of nonsense (until has been proven the validity of that story)?

UNITY AMONG US

By – Hesmel Faznee Faisal

Of late, some Malaysians (Jose, notice the usage of the word ‘some’ instead of ‘all’!) are waiting anxiously to see Deputy Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak, taking over the mantle from Abdullah Badawi, the current Prime Minister and becomes Malaysia’s 6th Prime Minister.

To spoil the excitement, a report that states Najib’s indirect involvement with the Altantuya murder case (Jose, one of the suspects involved in the murder case was Najib’s bodyguard!) has been circling in the internet (Go and check it out, Jose!), which can see his dream of becoming the Premier, dash into pieces.

Only time will tell and how far truth will prevail but we, as Malaysians can only hope that he will become a Prime Minister for all and will not be depending on slogans nor trying to reach out to us with a number of dreams, as we had seen in the previous administration.

Not to say that he is not a competent Prime Minister, as he has been in the political arena since he was 21! As a normal citizen, I do hope that he will be a better one, compared to what we have been facing through for the last 6 years! I’m not in a position to patronize his leadership but as a concern citizen, I really hope that he would be able to cope up with the pressure as there is a lot that needs to be done in order to be able to clamour back the glorious Malaysia into the map of the world.

Some may have been ignorant or did not have the access to the internet to see the photo of Pak Lah having lunch with Anwar Ibrahim, the former Deputy Prime Minister and currently the Opposition Leader. The photo has been published in Anwars’ blog as well as in the blogs of the pro opposition group (Jose, I'm not in the pro opposition nor the pro government's group. I belong to the non partisan group!)

Malaysians, being typical Malaysians likes to sensationalize stories and had come up with all sorts of theories, pertaining to the photo. Some had even said that Pak Lah was telling Anwar that he did not have any sayings upon choosing Najib as the next Premier, when Anwar asked him why did Najib was chosen to replace him.

It is in material that such question arise in the first place but to be fair to both men, we should always see it as a good thing for us, (Anwar is still undeniably an influential person and is able to influence people to listen to his speeches) and that he has able to sit down and have lunch with Pak Lah, the outgoing Prime Minister.

This meeting is important for the sake of unity for the Malays and for this time, I will not criticize Pak Lah for having such meeting with Anwar. For the sake of unity of our race, we need to think beyond the horizon and not being held down, by the political of hatred among us.

I wish all the best and really hope that we will be able to unite under one leadership and face the economic downturn that has managed to cripple our economic stability.

KATA-KATAKAN...

Oleh – Hesmel Faznee Faisal

Katakan,
Perkataan-perkataan yang dibisikkan,
Manisnya adalah satu persepsi,
Indahnya satu imansipasi,

Dan ngeri kematian telah menjadi jambatan realiti,
Kepada kekusutan langit yang berpintal,
Seharusnya ia menterjemahkan,
Segala gambaran yang tak terluah dek kata-kata,

Dan khutbah ini melagukan lagu sama,
Apakah ada bezanya?
Dan suara ini menghamburkan harapan berbeza,
Apakah tercetus kelainannya?

Namun akhirnya,
Kesedaran mengupas kulit angan-angan,
Melahirkan hiba pilu jerih rasa,
Dan tercubitkah tidur yang panjang?

Kesempurnaan bicara ini,
Apa adakah ia ungkapan penuh bahaya?
Kerana lupakah sejarah kepada kegagalan,
Ianya berpunca dari kata-kata..

MENTAL BLOCK DISEASE AGAIN!!

By- Hesmel Faznee Faisal

Life is difficult, as some may say it.

What makes life difficult for us?

The main question that will leave a question mark for us is why in the first place, people think that life is difficult?

We learnt a lot as we grew older. But before we reach to that extend, we have to go through numerous challenges. Those challenging tasks will definitely help us to ripen the fruit of maturity.

This writer is not trying to act like a preacher. The introduction above does not give any impression whatsoever about the ongoing process the writer is facing, but just a fraction of what he sees and feels.

Apart from that, the writer himself is actually infected with a very bad disease that usually will infect all writers.

For him, this disease has successfully made his life become so difficult. It has managed to put hold his flow of writing creativity (Jose, as if he has one!

It is known as the Mental-Block disease!
