This year, marks the 55th year Malaysia is celebrating her Independence and the way we achieved it, without having to drop a single blood and tear is quite telling; we tend to become negligent and for some they see it as just another day passing by, except that its a public holiday for Malaysians!
We have another 29 days left (starting from today, 2 August 2012 Jose!) if we were to do a Merdeka Celebration countdown. What is more frustrating is that I hardly see any of the Jalur Gemilang flags being hoisted either at private residences nor at the numerous shopping complexes and offices.
I am assuming that they will only decorate the buildings with Jalur Gemilang during the eve of the Merdeka celebration. I hope and pray that my assumption is right.
And I also hope that individuals will spend some money buying flags on their own, rather than to wait for the Government to supply the flags for free.
It is a disgusting move indeed.
